Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you book a counselling session, take an assessment, or use this website.

📅 Last updated: 24 May 2026
In simple terms: We only collect what we need to provide you with quality career counselling — your contact details, session preferences, and assessment responses. We never sell your data. Your conversations and assessment results remain strictly confidential. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

01Information We Collect

What you share with us — directly and automatically.

When you interact with CareerSummit (operated by Jatinder Singh Gandhi), we collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly

  • Booking form details — full name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, age, current academic stream or profession, city, and your preferred session date and time.
  • Discovery call inputs — concerns, goals, family context, and challenges you choose to discuss with us.
  • Assessment responses — answers to the free career assessment quiz and any paid psychometric tests (MBTI, Holland Code, DMIT, aptitude batteries).
  • Communication records — emails, WhatsApp messages, and session notes you exchange with the counsellor.
  • Documents you upload — resumes, mark sheets, SOPs, or academic records you share for review.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, screen size and referring URL.
  • Usage data — pages visited, time on site, buttons clicked and links followed.
  • Cookies — see section 6 below for details.

02How We Use Your Information

Only what's needed to deliver and improve our counselling services.

We use the information we collect strictly for the following purposes:

  • Deliver your counselling sessions — confirming bookings, sending Zoom links, sharing assessment reports and following up.
  • Personalise your roadmap — analysing your responses to give you genuinely useful, tailored guidance.
  • Process payments — via Razorpay for our Starter, Complete and Premium programs.
  • Send service updates — appointment reminders, session recaps and follow-up support messages.
  • Improve our service — anonymised insights about which content helps clients most.
  • Comply with legal requirements — when required by applicable Indian law.
📌We will never use your personal information for unsolicited marketing, sell it to third parties, or share it with advertisers.

03Psychometric & Assessment Data

Especially sensitive — and handled with extra care.

Career assessments often touch on personality, aptitudes, family dynamics and emotional wellbeing. Because this is sensitive, we apply additional safeguards:

  • Reports are shared only with you (and, for minors, with your parents/guardians).
  • We do not publish, share or use individual assessment results for case studies, social media or marketing without your explicit written consent.
  • Testimonials on our site are published only with the client's permission — and you can revoke this at any time.
  • Assessment platforms we use (such as Mindler-style tools and Bodhami-certified instruments) operate under their own data protection terms, which we vet before use.

04Payments & Razorpay

We don't see or store your card or bank details.

All payments for our programs are processed through Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. When you pay:

  • Card numbers, UPI IDs, net banking credentials and CVV are entered on Razorpay's secure systems — not ours.
  • We only receive a confirmation of payment, the amount, the transaction ID and your name and email.
  • We do not store your full payment instrument details on our servers.
  • Refunds, where applicable, follow our refund policy and are processed back to the original payment method via Razorpay.

05Sharing With Third Parties

A short, specific list — and never for advertising.

We share your information only with the limited set of trusted service providers required to operate this business:

  • Razorpay — for payment processing.
  • Zoom / Google Meet — to host online sessions.
  • Email & hosting providers — to deliver Communications.
  • Assessment platforms — when you take a psychometric test that runs on a partner platform.
  • Legal authorities — only when legally compelled by a valid order from a competent Indian authority.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, social-media networks for targeting, or unrelated third parties.

06Cookies & Tracking

Small files that help the site work and improve.

We use a minimal set of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your booking form progress).
  • Analytics cookies — typically Google Analytics, to understand which pages help visitors most. These can be set to anonymise your IP.
  • No advertising cookies — we do not run retargeting or third-party ad networks.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Some features (like the booking form) may not work properly without essential cookies enabled.

07Data Security

Reasonable, industry-standard safeguards.

We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data submitted through this website.
  • Access controls — only the counsellor and authorised staff can view your records.
  • Strong passwords and two-factor authentication on the systems we use.
  • Regular review of our hosting, email and assessment platform providers.

No system is 100% secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you promptly through the contact details you've shared.

08Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as it's useful — or required.
  • Active clients — your records are kept for the duration of our engagement plus 3 years, to support follow-up sessions and re-engagement.
  • Free quiz responses — used to generate your result and retained for up to 12 months in anonymised form for service improvement.
  • Payment records — retained for the period required by Indian tax and accounting laws (typically 8 years).
  • Communication logs — emails and WhatsApp messages are retained for up to 3 years unless you request earlier deletion.

09Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act, 2023) and good practice.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access

Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Right to Correction

Ask us to update or correct any inaccurate information.

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention).

Right to Withdraw Consent

Stop further use of your data at any time.

Right to Grievance Redressal

Raise concerns about how your data is handled.

Right to Nominate

Nominate someone to exercise your rights in case of incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at counselme@jatindergandhi.com. We respond within 7 working days.

10Minors & Parental Consent

A large share of our students are under 18 — and we treat that seriously.

For anyone under 18 years of age:

  • A parent or legal guardian must consent to the booking and to the processing of the minor's data.
  • Assessment reports for minors are shared with both the student and their parent/guardian.
  • Session content remains confidential within reasonable counselling norms — except where we believe the student may be at risk of harm.
  • We do not run targeted advertising of any kind, and certainly not toward minors.

11WhatsApp Communications

Convenient — but with clear limits.

Many clients prefer WhatsApp for follow-up support. When you message our number (+91 96676 83231) or we message you:

  • Messages are processed under WhatsApp's own privacy terms and are end-to-end encrypted by WhatsApp.

12Changes to This Policy

We'll let you know when something material changes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services or applicable law. When we do:

  • The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change.
  • For significant changes, we will notify active clients by email or WhatsApp.
  • Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
